Butter Chicken Recipe
Ingredients:
- Chicken: 500 grams (boneless, cut into cubes)
- Yogurt (Dahi): 1/2 cup
- Ginger-Garlic Paste: 1 tablespoon
- Red Chili Powder: 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric Powder: 1/2 teaspoon
- Garam Masala Powder: 1 teaspoon
- Cumin Powder: 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander Powder: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: to taste
- Butter: 2 tablespoons
- Oil: 1 tablespoon
- Onions: 2 medium-sized (finely chopped)
- Tomato Puree: 1 cup
- Fresh Cream: 1/2 cup
- Kasuri Methi (Dried Fenugreek Leaves): 1 teaspoon
- Sugar: 1 teaspoon
- Green Chilies: 2 (slit)
- Coriander Leaves: for garnishing
Instructions:
Marinate the Chicken:
- In a bowl, mix yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt.
- Add the chicken pieces and marinate for at least 30 minutes (preferably 2 hours).
Cook the Chicken:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan.
- Add the marinated chicken and cook until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred. Remove from heat and set aside.
Prepare the Gravy:
- In the same pan, add butter and heat it.
- Add finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add the tomato puree and cook for about 10 minutes on medium heat until the oil starts separating.
- Add garam masala powder, salt, sugar, and kasuri methi. Mix well.
- Add fresh cream and stir.
Combine Chicken with Gravy:
- Add the cooked chicken to the gravy and mix well.
- Let it simmer for another 10 minutes on low heat.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and slit green chilies.
- Add the cooked chicken to the gravy and mix well.
Serve:
- Serve hot with naan, roti, or steamed rice.
