Indian-Style Fish Fry Recipe
Ingredients:
- Fish Fillets: 500 grams (preferably King Fish, Pomfret, or any firm fish)
- Lemon Juice: 2 tablespoons
- Turmeric Powder: 1/2 teaspoon
- Red Chili Powder: 1 teaspoon
- Ginger-Garlic Paste: 1 tablespoon
- Coriander Powder: 1 teaspoon
- Cumin Powder: 1/2 teaspoon
- Garam Masala Powder: 1/2 teaspoon
- Rice Flour: 2 tablespoons
- Besan (Gram Flour): 2 tablespoons
- Salt: to taste
- Oil: for shallow frying
- Fresh Coriander Leaves: for garnishing
- Lemon Wedges: for serving
Instructions:
Marinate the Fish:
- Clean and pat dry the fish fillets.
- In a bowl, mix lemon juice, turmeric powder, red chili powder, ginger-garlic paste, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, and salt.
- Rub this marinade onto the fish fillets and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Prepare the Coating:
- Mix rice flour and besan in a plate.
- Lightly coat the marinated fish fillets with this mixture on both sides.
Fry the Fish:
- Heat oil in a pan for shallow frying.
- Place the coated fish fillets in the hot oil and fry on medium heat until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides.
- Remove from oil and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
Serve:
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and lemon wedges.
- Serve hot with chutney or as a side dish with rice.
